DJ Crisis has branded himself as Mr. Shut Up & Listen; Nashville’s Ultimate DJ Entertainer and the industry’s hardest working young, trendy, humble, and successful businessman.
With his childhood beliefs stemming from his mother’s consistent reiteration of the importance of faith, Crisis had always known the sky was the limit. However, the success that is synonymous with Dj Crisis has, in his words, been both “mind boggling and a blessing”.
DJ Crisis traveled to Nashville in 2005 to attend Tennessee State University. While a student Crisis joined the TSU campus radio Remotes Team. This put him in direct contact with his soon to be mentor Big Boy AJ. AJ took Crisis under his wing and soon Crisis was DJ-ing all of the campus events including his first Homecoming concert with TI and Lil Wayne.
Bit by the entertainment bug, DJ Crisis decided to exclusively go by DJ Crisis, joined a records pool, the Derrty Ent DJ Alliance out of St. Louis, and began a promotional company that would consistently put him in the goings-on of Nashville entertainment. That company was named Major League Entertainment. After seeing some success with Major League Entertainment, Crisis set out to brand both the company and himself.
In 2007 Cordarius ‘DJ Crisis’ Freeman, Black Rob, and Martez Burks joined their two companies, Fly Guy Entertainment and Major League Entertainment to form FlyMajor.com. The merging of then Nashville’s two most influential collegiate promotional companies produced a flood of city-wide support and patronage.
As the specified Soundtrack of FlyMajor.com, DJ Crisis has given the organization a competitive edge by providing his highly sought after musical arrangements better known as disc jockeying skills. Crisis’ grown popularity of his Shut Up & Listen Mix-Tape series is both measurable and volumetric; standing at a staggering more than a quarter million downloads over the last 4 years. This outlet has not only provided the FlyMajor.com brand with a ‘soundtrack’, it’s provided the organization with a voice!
Today DJ Crisis specializes in Club DJ-ing. “Many DJs aren’t able to continuously rock the ‘club’ environment and I’ve come to be an expert in it”--DJ Crisis
Though, this true, DJ Crisis is not only a night club DJ but he is a radio personality, a Mix-tape DJ, a rapper, and the Chief Operations Officer of FlyMajor.com; serving as a front man and co-founder to the organization which was named SEAs 2010 Club Promoters of the Year.
More recently Crisis had the rewarding experience of collaborating with DJ Drama for Shut Up & Listen Vol. 9 and Grammy nominated producer Drumma Boy for Shut Up & Listen Vol. 10. DJ Crisis is currently Young Buck’s Official DJ and can be heard on 101.1 The Beat on Sundays from 8:00p.m. to 12:00a.m. He is also one of the newest inductees in the world famous CORE DJ Alliance.
Above all Crisis maintains his craving for education as a student at Tennessee State University and by pursuing a degree in Mass Communications.
